My work is centred on creating a scaffold for the performance of paint. Starting with self-imposed constraints, I seek the interplay between structure and spontaneity. I engage with systems, repetition, interference, and disruption.
The repeated motif of the grid not only offers a sense of stability within each artwork but also invites contemplation and comparison across the collection. Through transparency, layering and texture, I explore the potential dynamics within this static framework.
Experimentation is key, as I enjoy the interplay between order and disorder, array and disarray, dissonance and resonance, surface and depth. My response to the paint becomes a vital aspect of the narrative subsequently woven into each piece.
