My work reflects a deep love of nature and connection to the land, which remains a constant source of inspiration. Through vibrant colour, I seek to capture the beauty, vitality and life force of the natural world.
I am particularly drawn to forests and native bush, where the tranquillity and clean air create a sense of calm and time seems to slow. These environments feel restorative—like medicine for the soul.
Within the forest, I am fascinated by the abundance of colour, shape and texture, and the way these elements come together to create a sense of wonder. Kauri trees often feature in my work because of their remarkable longevity and resilience. As sacred taonga to Māori, they also carry a powerful cultural significance and remind us of our responsibility to protect the natural environment for future generations.
