Mt Taranaki's slopes seem to shift and change as you travel around it, with the inner and outer circular roads offering different perspectives. Near Ōkato, remnants of volcanic lahars remain visible as unusual grass-covered mounds across the landscape. By using bold lines to emphasise these forms, along with Mt Taranaki itself, I have created a visual symbol of this distinctive area.
