Strolling across the damp dawn rocks of the Tāmaki estuary at low tide, I photographed formations that meet daylight only occasionally. Their sculptural forms and subtle hues appealed to me, evoking a distant, or exclusive view, experience shaped not by geographic horizon, but by water’s edge.
